Mother's day celebration...

Achi Sardis invited Diana and me to join them in the mother's day celebration in CSU... although we are not mommies yet... Seeing kids with their moms, I realized that being a mom has its ups and downs...
but today... you can see it in the faces of the parents that it's worth being a mom or a dad...
Realized something though, I miss my parents so much... Miss being able to chat with them about anything... miss being able to hug them and show them how much they are important to me...miss my mom's cooking...miss my dad's advices...I will surely give them a big hug when I get the chance to visit them in the Philippines...

Dad, Mom, I miss you and I love you!

With Jamie, Gogee, Achi Sardis and Diana, we enjoyed a morning with a performance of the kids... mini fair and fun under the sun...

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY:
*Had a relaxing and fun day with Jamie and Gogee
*Took a picture with 林鍇
*Got great food and beverages... great fruit salad...love it 讚!
*Got to be around many children again... (darn! missed being a kindergarten teacher...)
*Took many great pictures (in my opinion)

At first, I really don't want to join Gabby and 杜姊姊 on this trip because I was not feeling well (i think it was because i got a minor injury in Kenting+a running nose+scratchy throat) but a promise is a promise so at the end... i still went with them (FIY: one type of people that i hate are those who break promises so even if I'm not feeling well, I will still keep my promise and go to a trip with you). I know it's not a good thing sometimes because then your companions will worry about you and they won't enjoy the trip so I want to apologize to Gabby G and sis To if my stubbornness caused inconvenience on your part.

We went to a 民宿called 緩慢 (Adagio in Italian which means slow or leisure; it is also a word used to describe music with a slow tempo.)
A note for my family, friends and people everywhere, if the purpose of your trip is to relax... visit Adagio in 阿里山... you will get what you truly needs...

Adagio: It is located in the quiet area of Ali mountain. The place is so different from the city. When we reached the place, we unconsciously do things in slow motions. Everything is so pretty, relaxing and stress free. Since a picture paints a thousand words, I won't describe the place... I will show the exterior AND interior with pictures that I've taken... brace yourselves people... here goes...
(coming out soon)
For lunch, we ate the famous 阿良鐵支路便當+春捲冰淇淋+檸檬愛玉... full...full...full... such a heavy lunch... and stroll around 老街of奮起湖 for after-lunch exercise... I didn't enjoy much of the walk because I feel terrible. I just want to go back to our room and take a rest (beside, it's a little humid so it's sticky and uncomfortable).
After selecting a key chain for our key with its partner hanged on our door and the scent for our shampoo, bath gel and lotion (we chose the rose one), we checked in and went to our room. I immediately took a bath and after drying my hair, I went to bed. Gabby and sis To toured the place while I sleep. They persuade me to go see a doctor and I insist that I just want to rest (sometimes, my stubbornness will really kill me).
After a long persuasion on sis To's part, I agree to visit a doctor. She is a nun from Holland. She is the caretaker of an activity center which is only about a hundred steps (note... steps only) from the place we are staying... She used a key tied on a nylon to check which medicine suited me. She hold the key tied on a nylon on top of a bottle of medicine and hold it on top of my hand and if it make huge circles it means that I really need the medicine (she kept telling me你感冒很厲害). We thought it was quite 神奇 but didn't actually believed her and didn't know how to explain what just happened. To make us believe, she tried it on Gabby too and well, what do you know! she doesn't need it because she is not sick (she told Gab: 你不需要...). We left the place with so much gratitude (especially on my part)...

Sister, thank you very very much and May God bless you always!!!

Had our dinner so I can take my medicine and again, I went back to bed... Gabby and sis To went to the top floor to see the stars... They saw few ones but saw a lot of fireflies though and also met a smart kid (a very smart kid)... They plan to see the sunrise the next day and I didn't plan on going but after they got back from star watching, they asked me if I'm feeling better and if I want to join them the next day. I was feeling a LOT better so I decide to join them...and what do you know, i was the first one to wake up the next day. Got a lot of energy!!!

The sunrise was beautiful beautiful beautiful!!!
Although it was quite cold and got tired from climbing up the stairs, we enjoyed the trip...

We had our breakfast, went back to bed (HECK! I woke up around 4 AM and Gab & sis To around 4:30~4:45 AM), made postcards (thanks to goldfish金魚), bought some delicacies from 老街 again and checked out... We really don't want to leave the place...but we have to get back to the reality right? so off we went...
At first, we want to try 嘉義火雞肉飯 and buy民雄肉包...the whole plan changed when we saw puzzle 56.. The architecture and the interior is so great that we decide to have our lunch there... Ate a long lunch (actually, it is snack time already when we had our lunch)... discussed a lot of stuff, from love life to work to family to... a lot of things... We headed back home a little tired but surely recharge and happy...

Adagio! I shall return!!! Wait for me...

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TRIP:
*I got a lot of rest (I slept most of the trip)
*sis To going crazy with Gabby's driving. It made her tense because Gabby wants to take pictures while driving on the mountain road and I kept asking Gabby to see the photos that I've taken.
*Sunrise
*Adagio
*postcard making
*visit to the sister from Holland
*talk during lunch in puzzle 56

Lool took Diana and me for a drive through Pingtung...
He showed us places and have some Pingtung delicacies like pork knuckles + wanton soup+ 烏梅汁 + Popsicles + ice cream.....
Pork knuckles: it is boiled in water and dip it in with its sauce (soy sauce+minced garlic) before you have a bite. According to Lool, you can add black vinegar to make it more delicious (he's right! Yummy!)
Verdict: great! not oily and you will beg for more!
Wanton soup: lots of wanton with a tasty soup and topped with chopped celery.
Verdict: Good! The amount of wanton is worth the price and the soup+the wanton is very tasty. The soup does not just feel like water+ salt.

a juice made with 梅子. A little sweet and a little sour. In my opinion, taste better with a little ice.
Verdict: Great! not too sweet. Just right!
Popsicles+ice cream: we went to 屏糖 for their famous ice cream and popsicles. Got typical flavors like pineapple, grape, strawberry, milk, taro... also got weird flavors like yeast+red beans, rice...
Lool and I ate about 5 of them (popsicle and ice cream combined) and Diana had about 4 (i think). I tried lots of weird flavors like yeast+red beans and rice...and also some ordinary ones like milk... not vanilla but milk. I don't know how did Lool ate his ice cream but he broke the spoon...(beats me)
Verdict: the popsicles and ice cream are good. I like the milk flavor and the rice (although its a little weird)... I'm not very fond of the yeast+red beans though... but according to Lool, its one of the best seller in the store...(I don't believe him at first but he swear that he is not lying). Well, I saw a show on TV introducing flavors of ice cream and the yeast+red beans is one of them. It's really a best seller(sorry Lool for not believing you).

On our way home, we saw one of the most wonderful sight I ever saw in my life.....
Clouds that look like: bunch of dolphins swimming in the sea...
Of course, i would not let the chance pass me by... I took a picture of it.. Sigh... Perfect!!!

We went back to school to deliver the pork knuckles and wanton soup of Domitille and Leo
Later that night, we went to Dream Mall to have a taste of 高雄空廚's dishes...

高雄空廚's pork knuckles:Lool and I had German pork knuckles (again) and Diana had chicken (she said she had too much pork knuckles for the day)... The pork knuckle was sliced thoroughly so all you have to do is pick up the bite-size meat and chew it. It is served with steam veggies like broccoli and carrots, fries, mustard and sauerkraut...

Verdict: Good but too much for one person! The pork skin is crispy and the meat is soft, juicy and easy to chew. Add a little mustard and sauerkraut and you're on the roll...
You can add rice if you want but make sure it will be for two people... Really too much for one... besides, it's not so expensive... Diana said the chicken is quite good but doesn't really know the actual taste 'coz I haven't tasted it... I'll report on it next time if I tried it...

LoOnEy TuNeS

I received an sms message from Ed Ong 11:04 PM last night...
He just want to let me know that he is still using the Looney Tunes pillow that I gave him years ago
I was quite touched by his message... He just want to let me know that he is still using it and it's very useful to him...
Well, Ed...
That gesture brightened up my day... thanks Ed... for remembering...

We started out from Pingtung (Gabby G's home) then, we met up with Jason, Mark, his family and the volleyball team in Mark's home...
The volleyball team was already there with their Vespas... after a while, off we go!
Gabby, Jason, Mark, 怡靜 sisters and I got separated from Jeremy (Gabby G's bro), 靜如姐 and the volleyball team
Our group went to 潮州 to wait for some other people, waited until we're almost asleep (zzZzzZzzZz) but suddenly woke up when we saw a bunch of Vespas in so many colors and types...
REALLY COOL!!!
Then, its time to leave... Yehey!!

Gabby and I were so excited that we start dancing in the car... but after a while the traffic was so heavy that Gabby almost got cramps from waiting... We waited... and waited... and waited... and finally... we started moving again... Others reached the place we're staying around 2pm and Gabby and I reached the place 2 hours later...

After taking a cold and refreshing shower, we went to the beach to start having FUN!!!!!

First, we rode the banana boat
TEAM members:
Gabby, 甜甜,姿宜, two volleyball team members and I

quite exciting but not as much...just pure fun...

next, 大力水手~this is where the real fun begins
TEAM members:
Gabby, 甜甜,姿宜and I

The trainer brought us to the center of the sea and ask us if we want a leisure ride or an exciting ride...
crazy Gabrielle suddenly said that she wants an EXCITING RIDE!!!
Well, we got it... truly exciting...Gabby almost flew out of our boat!!!

Last, we had another go in the banana boat... they want to turn the boat out on the sea an
d once again near the shore... I don't really want to turn the boat out on the sea 'coz the only thing that can save us is the jet ski which is no use ... I can't go up the banana boat by myself!!! I really wanna cry!!!

Well, at least I went up the banana boat (after a lot of help from the others, thanks girls) and hurt myself after i fell down from it (don't know how it actually happened but it hurts)

Went back to our hotel, cleaned up and went out for dinner and a trip to 墾丁街
A lot of people so we have to squeeze here and there...
Went back after a while because everybody is quite tired...

Gabby and I got pissed off about something and went back
to
墾丁 by ourselves
Met a great guy that sells stuff... he brightened our bad night with a discount and praises...

Next day, woke up just a bit late... took
a shower and prepare to checkout...

Heard from a reliable source (Mark and Jason) that Chris of Miami Ink is in Starbucks drinking coffee so... Gabby, 怡靜, 慧卿 and I borrowed Mark and Jason's Vespas and went to have our picture taken with Chris... cool la!

We ate our late lunch and visited Wow! What a view...
Later, went to 車城 and have 綠豆饌... cool, sweet, refreshing and so darn good!!!

I fell asleep in the car on the way home and Gabby G ALMOST fell asleep too, she's the one who's driving... talk about accidents... well, at least we are alive and well...

That's the end of Kenting trip... crazy, frustrating, hot, exciting and just plain, good ol' fun!

Mona
跟Dave(我的菲律賓best friend)講說:終於可以看到Dunn了

Mona

Cafe Grazie

Cafe Grazie
Thank God

Mona

thought for the day: you will never realize how much you miss
someone or something until you see them again.
我沒想到會想念Dunn 他們,特別是Dunn(他是我machiㄋㄟ)

Gabby found a great coffee shop by mistake (a wonderful mistake) ...
It has good food, great view and a wonderful ambiance...

Lesson for the day:
Not all mistakes are bad... sometimes its for the better...
In life, we have to take a wrong turn now and then to find something better...
